Set amongst this enchanting native bush, Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat has 13 well-appointed modern Chalets which blend gently into the natural surroundings and make you feel as if you are a part of the native bush.
To compliment these Chalets there is a beautifully presented Lodge which offers you a Café / Bar and Restaurant, Open 10am to required - Thursday to Sunday The Restaurant is open for Dinner with Bookings only. Otherwise we close at 5pm/3pm. Closed - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4 Spa Pools are nestled in the bush for you to relax in. From Tangiaro it is just a few minutes’ drive to beautiful Sandy Bay, (which is ideal for swimming and it has a boat ramp for the keen fishermen,), the Port Charles Wharf and 20 minutes north to Stony Bay which is the start of the Coromandel Coastal Walkway Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat is a truly magical place to stay, for romantic getaways, unique weddings, nature trips, tramping/hiking trips, city escapes, family holidays, lady’s weekends away, fishing trips, small conferences, or just a relaxing quiet time away. |

Around 50 kiwi live on the Tangiaro property. You may hear them at night, but they are elusive by day.
At Tangiaro, nature is everywhere. Take a walk up the Tangiaro stream to the natural swimming hole, explore the silver mines along the way. Lie back in one of our hot spa's which are tucked away in the beautiful native bush, or relax on the deck of your chalet, listening to the birds. Everything is here – the venue, catering, accommodation, amazing choices for the ceremony (indoor and out) and stunning backdrops for photos, either beside the stream or at a nearby sandy beaches. You can expect fabulous food, wine and efficient friendly service of the highest standard, and if you want to have your friends and family stay, it’s no problem!
