A stop over at the Cafe for snacks & drinks (not included in the price of the walk).
Followed by Kiwi Listening & an in depth kiwi talk.

The Tangiaro Kiwi are due to have their health checks, we are hoping this will be part of the walks in January & February 2012.

Walkers will need suitable footwear, (there is a shallow creek to be crossed) and all walks are weather dependant.
Walks will be assessed and varied if necessary depending on various factors.

There is a limit on available spaces. Cost per person is $45.
Dates for walks are -
Saturday 7th January & either the 14th or the 21st January 2012, to be decided.

The February date will be set near the end of January.

Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat Sponsors Kiwi!!

Three adult male Kiwi - Scratch, Kuta & Rehua, are monitored on the Tangiaro property.
This is fully funded by Tangiaro, and includes 6 monthly health checks.
Valuable insight is gained by monitoring (remotely & electronically) these birds.
These 3 kiwi are the only monitored Kiwi in the far northern Coromandel.
Recent call counts in the area (National Call Counting Site) suggest a rise in Kiwi numbers.
