Around 50 kiwi live on the Tangiaro property. You'll hear them at night, but they are elusive by day. Three of them - Scratch, Itchy & Rehua - are monitored, and checked on a 6-monthly basis. Guests are invited to join Tommy the kiwi man during these health checks.

At Tangiaro, nature is everywhere. Take a walk down the Tangiaro stream to the swimming hole, explore the silver mines along the way. Lie back in a hot spa, tucked under the tree canopy, or relax on the deck of your chalet, listening to the birds.
